Built county-wide, not city-wide
Canton, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Holly Springs, and Waleska are treated as one map. A Ball Ground listing does not get buried because Woodstock is louder.
Cherokee Loop is the workshop behind five small, stubbornly local sites — one for what is happening, one for who is hiring, one for where to eat, one for where to play, and one for the neighbors you have not met yet. Built in Canton, for the five towns along the Etowah.

Each stop is its own site with its own front door. The Loop is what keeps them pointing at each other.
County websites usually fail the same way: one giant portal that tries to be a calendar, a job board, a restaurant guide and a message board at once, and ends up being none of them.
So we split it up. Five narrow sites, each good at exactly one thing, each with a name you can remember without a bookmark. They share a design, a verification process, and a single Friday email — which is the loop. Cherokee Happenings opened first; Works, Eats and Plays are open now too. Cherokee Connects is next.
cherokeehappenings.com
The community hub for Cherokee County — events, businesses, and everything in between.
Cherokee Happenings answers one question well: what is going on around here this week? It pulls the county’s scattered event notices — city pages, venue Facebook groups, church bulletins, flyers taped to hardware-store doors — into a single, verified, searchable calendar, and pairs it with a directory of the local businesses behind them. Nothing regional, nothing syndicated, no Atlanta filler.
Festivals, live music, farmers markets, church suppers, 5Ks, city council meetings, school plays. Anyone can submit; every entry gets checked before it posts.
Nearly 200 Cherokee County businesses so far, and the list keeps growing. Community listings are free, forever.
One email every Friday morning: the weekend, edited down. Free, local, and one click to unsubscribe if it stops earning its place.

Four rules that apply to every stop on the route, including the ones that have not opened yet.
Canton, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Holly Springs, and Waleska are treated as one map. A Ball Ground listing does not get buried because Woodstock is louder.
The weekend, edited down to what is worth leaving the house for. No daily digest, no push notifications.
Dates, addresses, and ticket prices get verified against the venue — not scraped once and left to rot.
Community listings and event submissions carry no fee, permanently. Paid placement exists, and it is labeled as paid placement.
Works, Eats and Plays are open now. Cherokee Connects is next, launched when it ships finished. Subscribers to the Friday email hear first when it opens.
